SPPC Donates $1,000 to Korean Golf Association of Guam

Guam, July 19, 2024 – South Pacific Petroleum Corporation (SPPC), the company behind the 76/Circle K brands in Guam, has generously donated $1,000 to the Korean Golf Association of Guam. The donation was made as part of SPPC’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organizations and fostering community engagement.

The Korean Golf Association of Guam, founded 52 years ago, is a non-profit organization with over 150 active members who meet on the 2nd Saturday of every month to enjoy golf and camaraderie. To celebrate this milestone, the association will host the 36th Annual Budweiser/Korean Golf Classic Tournament on August 10, 2024, at the Country Club of the Pacific (CCP). This event promises a full day of competitive golf for all skill levels, delicious refreshments, food, and fabulous prizes. The tournament is one of the largest and longest-running golf tournaments on Guam, bringing together more than 144 participants every year.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit several local organizations, including:

  • Guam Gadao Lions Club: Empowering volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding.
  • American Cancer Society Guam Field Office: Supporting over 400 cancer patients per year, working with lawmakers, health providers, and other organizations to support cancer patients, educate on cancer prevention, and provide funding to help the cancer community of Guam.
  • The Alee Shelter: Providing emergency/protective shelter for women and children in crisis from family violence and sexual assault.
  • Korean School of Guam: Providing local community education and development with Korean language and cultural education.

SPPC’s sponsorship is part of its broader commitment to community involvement and support for local initiatives. The company is dedicated to making a positive difference in the communities it serves and looks forward to future opportunities to support local organizations and events.
