SPPC Donates $7,600 to Support Dementia Care at Guma Ginefli’e Funds Raised Through 76 Drive for Charity Golf Tournament

Tamuning, Guam – April 22, 2025 — South Pacific Petroleum Corporation (SPPC) proudly awarded a $7,600 donation to Guma Ginefli’e, Guam’s adult daycare program dedicated to supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). The funds were raised during SPPC’s 76 Drive for Charity Golf Tournament, held to generate awareness and assistance for vital community health programs.

The donation was presented on April 22, 2025, to representatives of Health Services of the Pacific, which operates Guma Ginefli’e through its Division of Senior Citizens in partnership with Guam’s Department of Public Health and Social Services.

Guma Ginefli’e serves as a lifeline for many families in Guam, where cultural values rooted in the Chamorro tradition emphasize caring for the manåmko’ (elderly) at home. However, with no nursing homes or specialized care facilities on island, caregiving responsibilities often fall heavily on family members.

The program provides a safe, structured environment for individuals with ADRD and offers essential services such as personalized care, assistance with mobility devices, nutrition support, and caregiver counseling.

Despite the availability of community-based services, many residents are unaware of programs like Guma Ginefli’e. Events such as the 76 Drive for Charity are helping to bridge that gap.
