SPPC Donates $2,500 to Support Guam Chess Federation and 76/Circle K Chess Team Tournament
Tamuning, Guam – September 5, 2025 – South Pacific Petroleum Corporation (SPPC), the local distributor of 76 Fuels, LPGas, and operator of Circle K convenience stores has donated $2,500 to the Guam Chess Federation (Guam ECHESS). As a Title Sponsor, 76 Circle K is proud to support the Federation’s programs that promote the game of chess across the island.
The check presentation took place at SPPC’s headquarters in Tamuning, where company representatives welcomed officers and board members of the Guam Chess Federation.
The donation also supports the 76/Circle K Chess Team Tournament, which kicked off on September 7 and continues on September 14, 21, 28, and October 5 at Micronesia Mall, Dededo. The tournament, organized by the Guam Chess Federation, brings together teams from across the island, including companies, schools, and community groups.
The event features:
- A 9-round Swiss System format with a 90-minute time control
- 5 players per team (men and women, any ages)
- Free drinks for participants and guests
- Games running from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Participating teams include J.A.M. Construction Guam Co., United Mechanical Co., Real Estate Guam, Serrano Construction & Development Corp., Guam Chess Academy, Angels Fly, RPG Construction, MMB Inc., Northern Construction Inc., Ruck Popup, IT&E Guam, and the GCF Women’s Team.
The donation helps ensure that events like this tournament can continue to grow and inspire new generations of chess players. It also supports the Guam Chess Federation’s ongoing mission to expand activities that provide students and families with opportunities to experience the lifelong benefits of chess.
SPPC remains committed to giving back to the community through partnerships and initiatives that encourage education, youth development, and community growth.
